Adebayor reportedly revealed his unwavering support following a significant financial windfall from the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) 2023.
Despite initially rooting for the Super Eagles of Nigeria during the tournament, Adebayor's sentiments took a dramatic turn after Ivory Coast clinched victory over Nigeria in the finals on February 11.
Sebastien Haller’s second half strike ensured The Elephants secured their third African title and dethroned Senegal in the process.
Following the full-time whistle at the Alassane Ouattara Stadium in Abidjan, Adebayor was on ground to unveil the AFCON 2023 trophy for presentation, despite having nerve won the tournament during his international career.

"From August 2023 to now I have earned more than 200 million FCFA in Ivory Coast in terms of advertising partnerships. I can never criticize this country and I will always support Ivory Coast.”
