'We made them believe in themselves' — Van Nistelrooy aims dig at Ten Hag after Leicester victory
Ruud Van Nistelrooy explained how he got Manchester United though an unbeaten run after Erik ten Hag was sacked.
What Amorim said
The former Sporting boss is famous for his 3-4-3 formation, and when asked if he will carry this on at Manchester United, despite the fact that the Red Devils have exclusively played with four at the back, Amorim explained that he will stick with what he knows.
He explained that was the correct path, starting with a back three, but added that it was subject to change, depending on the evolution of his relationship with the squad.
"I have to start from something I know very well and then develop that with the players,” he told reporters. "We don’t have much time to train; there are many games, so I’ll start from a structure I know very well.”
Meanwhile, Amorim will not be able to count on Ruud Van Nistelrooy—who handled the club in the transition period before his resumption—to help relay his ideas to the players, as one of his first calls as Red Devils now was telling the former Dutch striker he was surplus to requirement.
