Former Gor Mahia defender David 'Calabar' Owino could not help Napsa avoid defeat against Ian Otieno's Zesco.

Harambee Stars goalkeeper Ian Oteno kept a clean sheet as he helped Zesco get one over David ‘Calabar’ Owino’s Napsa Stars.

Calabar could not manage to beat his former employers on return to Zesco, although he had a decent individual display, while Otieno, a former AFC Leopards goalkeeper, made a couple of decent saves to help maintain Zesco’s place at the top of the table.

Napsa Stars won a freekick in the third minute, but the resultant attempt went straight into the wall of ZESCO United

By the 21st minute, both teams were trying to break the deadlock but it was Napsa Stars that looked sharper and aggressive

Zesco United tried  to take the lead in the 39th minute, but Napsa Stars ' defense was at their a game to keep the tie goalless.

In the 45th minute, Zesco’s David Simukonda hit it on target but Napsa Stars goalkeeper Rabson Mucheleng’ang’a saved it to keep the score tied at the break.

Zesco however took the lead right after the break through a John Chingandu strike in the 49th minute to stun the away side and effectively give them all the three points, and keep them first in the table on 49 points, while Napsa remain 15th on 19 points, one ahead of the relegation places.

Otieno's star has been on the rise ever since he joined Zambian champions Zesco United three seasons ago.

The experienced goalkeeper, who previously played for Posta Rangers and AFC Leopards, is eager to make his mark as the number one choice for Harambee Stars.
