The Uyo-based team suffered another home defeat
The battle to escape relegation continues for Ibom Angels as they suffered a home defeat when they hosted Confluence Queens at the Godswill Akpabio stadium in Uyo.
Chioma Moses’ first-half strike was all Confluence Queens needed to win over Ibom Angels, and with the results, the Lokoja-based side has recorded her third consecutive win.
Robo Queens 3-0 Adamawa Queens
It was a rain of goals in Lagos, as Robo Queens silenced her visitor Adamawa Queens at the Legacy Pitch, National Stadium, Surulere, Lagos.
The Lagos landladies earn her second win and the first home win of the season.
Misturat Yusuf strike from outside the box in the 17th minute was the opener, Esther Onyenezide doubled the lead, and substitute Rukayat Shobowale scored the third goal in the 52nd minute.
Nasarawa Amazons 2- 1 Abia Angels
Nasarawa Amazons came from behind to grab the win at home, Abia Angels took the lead through Nkechi Agams’ early goal, and Ojiyovwi Kesiena and Abigail Sunday strike to secure a 2-1 win for the host.
Edo Queens tops Group B with 12 points, while Abia Angels are second on the log with 10 points, and Nasarawa Amazons are third with the same points as Abia Angels.
Confluence Queens are placed fourth with ten points, Adamawa Queens are fifth with nine points, the Lagos-based side, Robo Queens are sixth with seven points, and Ibom Angels are seventh with three points.
The game is the end of the first stanza of the NWFL and will now go on mid-season break until February 8.
