Sporting president Frederico Varandas gave the verdict coveted striker Viktor Gyokeres.
Sporting president Frederico Varandas has opened the door to Viktor Gyokeres leaving in the January transfer window, as he suggested that the club would not stand in his way.
The 26-year-old only joined the club at the start of last season, from Championship side Coventry, but his incredible scoring rate has placed him on the radar of a number of top clubs, including Manchester United.

The Manchester United links
Despite signing Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee for significant sums over the course of the last two seasons, the Red Devils are still in the striker market.
They have been linked with Victor Gyokeres as with some other top clubs, but the arrival of Ruben Amorim at Old Trafford has improved Manchester United's odds.
While the Portuguese coach said he would not sign any player from his former club in the January transfer window, he suggested he could come for some in the summer.
However, suppose the circumstances demand a striker in January. In that case, Sporting will not block the move, as Varandas said they will accept any bid in winter, provided the release clause is met.
“I can’t promise anything. If a club arrives and pays the release clause, if he wants to go... he will go,” he said, per Fabrizio Romano. “But I do not think this will happen in January.”
