Nigerian forward Kelechi Iheanacho has been criticised for his performance in Leicester City's 3-0 loss to Manchester United.

Super Eagles striker Kelechi Iheanacho has caught some heat for his performance in Leicester City's 3-0 defeat to Manchester United on Sunday.

The Foxes visited Old Trafford with Iheanacho in the starting lineup and they fell to a loss thanks to a Marcus Rashford brace and a third by Jadon Sancho.

Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has now blamed the Super Eagles striker for the Red Devils’ third goal, claiming that the Nigerian should have done better.

Manchester United's third goal resulted from Iheanacho getting dispossessed controversially by Lisandro Martinez in what looked like a foul that was never given.

Kelechi Iheanacho criticised for his role in Manchester United's third goal.

However, Gary Neville thinks otherwise, claiming that Iheanacho should have been stronger when Martinez challenged him for the ball.

“That (third goal) is such a good goal," Neville said giving his former club credit, "Leicester complaining about a potential foul on Iheanacho, I don’t think it was.”

The Manchester United legend told Sky Sports according to the Leicester Mercury “I just thought Iheanacho had to do better."

“Iheanacho has got to do better than that, it’s about three or four times in the second half it’s just bounced off him. He’s stronger than Martinez, but doesn’t show it,” Neville rounded up his thoughts on the Nigerian striker.

Iheanacho was on a three-game scoring streak heading into the Manchester United game but he was kept mute successfully by David De Gea who made a stunning save to deny him.
