Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana continues to receive plaudits for his penalty save against Copenhagen in the Champions League.

Manchester United goalkeeper Andre Onana has refused to bask in the plaudits that ensued after he made a late penalty save to ensure the Red Devils took maximum points in their Champions League clash against Copenhagen.

The 27-year-old Cameroon international has been subjected to immense criticism since signing for the Red Devils this summer, as he has been in the frame for a number of goals shipped by Ten Hag’s side this campaign.

This was the case last game week in the Champions League as well, when he admitted to being complicit in his side’s defeat to the Bundesliga Champions.

What Onana said

The former Inter shot-stopper seems to be getting on the right side of form, as he pulled a late heroic save to deny Jordan Larson, which ensured Maguire’s header 72nd-minute header remained a match-winning intervention.

Speaking after the match, the former Ajax man refused to linger on his heroic involvement, saying he was only doing his job.

"I'm just doing my job; the most important thing is to win against a tough team,” he told TNT, per the BBC.

"I am happy for the victory; we had a good game and a big goal from Harry [Maguire]. We are Manchester United. We are a big club, big players. It's just a matter of time; now we have to continue like this. I have no doubt we will make it."

Meanwhile, Manchester United fans have changed their tune about Cameroonian goalkeeper Andre Onana, who was the hero as they claimed their first UEFA Champions League win of the campaign against Copenhagen.
