Wesley Fofana disagreed with his manger Enzo Maresca regarding his injury period.
Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana has publicly disputed manager Enzo Maresca's assertion that he will miss the remainder of the season due to injury.
The French centre-back has been hampered by persistent knee problems since he arrived at the club in the summer of 2022. He missed portions of his first season and suffered a significant ACL rupture in July 2023.

Earlier, Maresca indicated that Fofana may be sidelined for the rest of the season following an injury sustained in the 3-0 victory over Aston Villa in early December.
With Fofana out Maresca has had to explore various defensive options, including giving teenager Josh Acheampong his first Premier League start in the draw against Crystal Palace.
Though Acheampong impressed at Selhurst Park, Fofana's absence was again noticeable as they conceded late and lost two points. While the manager’s injury update may disappoint Chelsea fans, the player remains optimistic based on his own outlook.
In a surprising move, Fofana informed L’Equipe of his confidence in returning to action ahead of schedule, possibly in March.
The 24-year-old said, “It’s not true!. I’m not out for the rest of the season, I don’t know why he (Maresca) said that. I will be back in 4-6 weeks.”
This public disagreement between player and manager raises questions about communication within the club and the accuracy of the initial injury assessment.
