Former Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho has set a date for proposed Premier League return.

Fenerbahce manager Jose Mourinho has put a definite end date on his stint at the Turkish club as he eyes a sensational return to the Premier League.

The 61-year-old two-time Champions League winner joined the Yellow Canaries in the summer after months of unemployment following his Roma sack.

His hiring was met with much fanfare by elated Fenerbahce fans, and on his unveiling, he promised to wear the club's jersey as his skin. Only months after making that statement, Mourinho is already discussing his exit.

Mourinho's Premier League desire

As Pulse Sports reported, the former Chelsea boss eyes a return to the glamour of the Premier League, and he has not kept that to himself.

Ahead of their Europa League draw against Manchester United last night, he lauded the Red Devils and said he hoped they were not back to their best before he returned to the English top flight.

Mourinho sets Premier League return date

Speaking after the game, Mourinho stated definitely that he would be leaving Fenerbahce in two years time, the summer of 2026, when his contract with the Yellow Canaries would have expired.

Mourinho maintained his desire to return to the Premier League and this time he expanded on the idea, specifying that he plans to join a middling or bottom-table team in the division and upgrade them to European competition contention.

“I think the best thing I have to do when I leave Fenerbahce is to go to a club that does not play UEFA competitions,” he told reporters.

“So if any club in England, from the bottom of the table, needs a coach in two years, I'm ready to go.”

Meanwhile, Mourinho tipped his former club Manchester United for success this season, as he believes that they can still win the league
