Lazio striker Ciro Immobile found himself at the centre of a distressing incident outside his son's school, reportedly subjected to both physical and verbal assault, witnessed by his wife and young child.
It was reported that the incident happened outside the footballer's son's school during the school closing hour.
Immobile's agency has also accused the Italian press of fueling the attack with baseless rumours linking him to the sacking of former manager Maurizio Sarri.

Zach Lowy reported on X saying, “Ciro Immobile was physically and verbally attacked in the presence of his wife and his four-year-old son today.
“The attack happened outside of his son’s school building. Immobile is considering legal action.”
Lazio swiftly responded to the incident, offering their full support to their captain and his family.
In an official statement, the club condemned the assault, emphasising the importance of upholding sportsmanship and denouncing any form of violence, verbal or physical.
Club president Claudio Lotito, however, offered a contrasting perspective, revealing his own experiences with threats.
He asserted, as reported by the Sun, "It happens to me every day, I have lived under guard for 20 years. Daily death threats to me and my family."
Lazio's struggles this season have been evident, with the team sitting in ninth place in the Serie A standings, far from European qualification spots.
Immobile, a pivotal figure for Lazio, has endured a challenging season, managing just six goals in 24 Serie A appearances.
