Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford will be unavailable for several upcoming games due to a muscle injury, the club has confirmed.

The injury occurred during Saturday's 2-0 Premier League win over Everton at Old Trafford, and Rashford was substituted in the 80th minute, immediately heading to the dressing room for treatment.

Although he will miss Manchester United's Europa League quarter-final match against Sevilla on Thursday, Rashford is expected to return for the season run-in.

United has described Rashford's injury as "a setback" and expressed optimism that he will recover quickly.

Rashford has been a key player for Manchester United this season, scoring 28 goals in all competitions and helping the team win the Carabao Cup in February.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expressed his frustration with the scheduling of games, calling for more consideration for players' health.

"Some things you can't avoid, but this was avoidable," Ten Hag said. "Why has the Premier League given us the late Sunday night game and the early Saturday game?”

“I think it's not right. You are running a risk; players can't recover that quickly. All science and research will tell you players need a certain time to recover."

Ten Hag also defended his decision to play Rashford in multiple games. "Not any manager in this stage of the season will rotate so much.”

“I know that is why this is the toughest league and in all the leagues and competitions we were in then you need a squad to rotate to a certain point, but this was avoidable, it was not necessary to set the schedule like we have now."

Despite Rashford's absence, Manchester United has seen the return of other key players like Anthony Martial and Christian Eriksen.

United is also expected to have Casemiro in the squad on Thursday after the midfielder served a four-game suspension.
