Matchday two between Bendel Insurance and Plateau United has been moved to Thursday.
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) matchday two fixture between Bendel Insurance and Plateau United has been rescheduled for Thursday January 19.
The game was initially scheduled for Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin, but it has now been rescheduled by the organizers of the League Interim Management Committee (IMC).
Insurance top Group A
The Benin Arsenal top the Group A table after beating 2021 NPFL champions Akwa United 2-0 in the first game of the league in Uyo.
Newly promoted side Bendel Insurance was the first to shock former champions Akwa United. Goals from former UNIBEN Royal striker Imade Osarenkhoe and Ismael Seriki were enough for visitors to record a win.
Plateau United share spoils in Jos
It was a thriller at the New Jos stadium between Plateau United and Shooting Stars of Ibadan as both teams shared spoils.
The first ten minutes witnessed two goals from the away side. The Oluyole Warriors' Anthony Okachi and Akintunde Azeez gave the Ibadan-based side the lead in the 15th and 65th minute.
Plateau United equalised through Izuchukwu Chimeze and Ifeanyi Emmanuel in the 72nd and 80th minutes respectively.
The game ended 3-3, producing the most goals on matchday one.
Insurance to wear new Jerseys
Insurance will be using new Jersey for their clash when they host Plateau United on Thursday.
Recall that the Edo state government unveiled new jerseys for Bendel Insurance and Edo Queens for the season.
The state Deputy Governor, Philip Shaibu unveiled the home, away, and third kit for the state-owned male and female clubs.
Senior Special Assistant to the Edo State Governor on Sports, Sixtus Omokhagbon, confirmed the jersey will cost N20,000 each.
