Romelu Lukaku's dream move from Chelsea to Inter could be off with the Nerazzurri reportedly withdrawing interest in the Belgian forward
Serie A giants Inter are reportedly set to abandon their pursuit of Chelsea striker Romelu Lukaku, who spent the 2022/23 campaign on loan with them.
Inter set to abandon interest in Chelsea striker
Inter were believed to be in the driving seat in a race for Lukaku’s signature and were set to beat rivals Juventus and AC Milan to the Belgian’s services, but a new twist in the saga has left the Nerazzurri reconsidering their interest in the forward.
Lukaku has made known his desire to leave Chelsea this summer after spending last season on loan outside the club, and his declaration sparked a bidding war for his services despite the Blues requesting a modest sum for the Belgian national team’s all-time top scorer.
The bids for Lukaku, all under Chelsea’s €45 million valuation, were thought to be a formality since Lukaku’s choice appeared to be to sign for Inter, but the striker’s behaviour in recent days has opened the possibility of a move elsewhere.
Lukaku considering Juventus interest
According to reports from Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio, Lukaku’s head has been turned by Juventus’ interest and the striker has stalled on concluding personal terms with Inter, despite claiming earlier that he only wanted a move to the Nerazzurri.
The Belgian striker and his agent have reportedly avoided speaking with representatives of Inter as they wait for Juventus’ terms for a personal deal.

Inter have now reportedly responded by cutting ties with the Belgian forward, ending their pursuit of Lukaku in favour of other targets.
Arsenal striker Folarin Balogun has emerged as an option for Inter and would cost around the same amount as Lukaku for a summer move.
