Nigeria's John Mikel Obi says there is a reason nobody has come close to Arsenal's Invincibles as he challenges dominant Pep Guardiola and Manchester City.
Twenty years after Arsenal's legendary manager Arsene Wenger led the Gunners to write their names into Premier League history, their unparalleled Invincibles achievement has been rated by Nigeria’s John Mikel Obi as the most impressive feat in the World.
Even the sustained dominance and historic trophy hauls of Manchester City in recent seasons have not been enough to eclipse the Gunners' unprecedented unbeaten campaign.

On his latest podcast, Nigerian great Mikel Obi weighed in on the debate over which accomplishment is more remarkable - Arsenal's Invincibles season or the treble victories of Manchester United in 1999 and Manchester City in 2023.
"It is a tough one to answer," Obi acknowledged. "Obviously, winning the treble is amazing but going unbeaten in the Premier League, I can't see that happening. It is impossible to see that happening in the Premier League, I can't see it happening."
The former Chelsea midfielder pointed to Bayer Leverkusen's unbeaten Bundesliga run last campaign as an example but insisted that replicating such a feat in the Premier League would be an immensely more difficult task.

"We are talking about the Premier League here - the most demanding, difficult, physical league in the world. The best players are here, it's hard to see that, I can't see that - it has to be between both," Obi said.
"I think going unbeaten in the PL or winning the treble, if you have to put a gun to my head, record is record and there is a reason why that record still stands - no one has been able to break it. So, I think so (Invincibles) is more impressive than the treble."
Despite Manchester City's unprecedented success in recent years, including their recent domestic treble victory, Obi believes Arsenal's Invincibles achievement is unmatched and one that Guardiola desires to break the most.
"As good as Manchester City have been the last four seasons, it's impossible for them to go unbeaten," he concluded.
