Mourinho joins Fenerbahce

The former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Manchester United manager was unveiled as the new coach of Turkish Super Lig runners-up Fenerbahce amid fanfare as the Portuguese coach landed his first job since leaving Serie A side Roma.

Mourinho took the occasion of his unveiling to take another swipe at Tottenham and Roma, with whom there is no love lost as he suggested that the clubs lacked the ambition he needed to work.

While giving his introductory speech as Fenerbache coach, Mourinho outlined his objectives for the team and could not help but take a swipe at Tottenham.

The Portuguese gaffer explained his reason for choosing Fenerbahce, saying, "Being at a London, fighting for 6th, is that ambition? To be in Italy fighting for 5th place, is that ambition? Ambition is to play to win. Ambition is to feel the pressure. This is Fenerbahce."

Mourinho was sacked at Tottenham just days before his only chance to win them silverware in the EFL Cup final and was let go by Roma despite leading the club to victory in the Europa Conference League in his first season but has now found a new home in Turkey with Fenerbahce.
