Vipers Sports Club have a chance to regain the STarTimes Uganda Premier League lead with their double fixtures this week
If Vipers Sports Club is to win the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, this week provides the best chance to step up the gear as the Venoms play one of their games in hand.
SC Villa lead the log with 46 points, one ahead of Vipers and KCCA FC in second and third positions, respectively.

In control
Vipers’ superior goal difference sets them ahead of their Lugogo rivals, whom they dispatched 1-0 last week at the St. Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

FOOTBALL UPL realigns Villa fixtures ahead of final showdown
SC Villa, KCCA and Vipers are the leading contenders for the StarTimes Uganda Premier League, with a likely possibility for the title race to go to the wire.
The two, however, have an advantage over Villa as they have two and one game at hand, respectively.
Vipers will play one of those two on Tuesday when they travel to the Kavumba Recreation Ground to visit Soltilo Bright Stars before setting off to Arua to play Onduparaka on Friday.
Wary
KCCA had a similar advantage going into last week but squandered the chances as they dropped the guard to share spoils with Onduparaka despite leading 2-0 towards the end of the game before losing all the three at Kitende.

SUPL Bright Stars' Mwebaze focused on winning, not Vipers' title charge
Soltilo Bright Stars FC could make or break it for Vipers SC in the latter's StarTimes Uganda Premier League title aspirations when the two lock-horns at the Kavumba Recreation Grounds on Tuesday.
Coach Alex Isabirye is wary about a similar situation and has rallied his boys to be at the top of the game now that they have control over the race.
“…it won’t be easy but we are trying to see that we get three points for whichever game we play,” the soft-speaking coach said.
“The players know very well that three points are my only request, and l always tell them to go out there and do their best for three points,” he adds.
