The wife of Super Eagles star Peter Etebo appears to have taken sides in the Gerard Pique and Shakira break-up saga, after hitting out at a Casio commercial.
Isi Etebo is the latest celebrity to weigh in on Gerard Pique and Shakira’s break-up saga.
Pique and Shakira called it quits in June 2022, following series of rumours linking the former Barcelona defender with alleged infidelity.
Now the wife of Super Eagles of Nigeria midfielder Peter Etbeo has now taken to social media to react to the breakup.
Isi called out Pique for cheating on Shakira, while showing support for the Colombian singer, and also slammed Casio over reports of a partnership with the Spaniard.
Taking to her Instagram story she wrote: ‘Not Casio talking about loyalty and then doing partnership with a cheater. He cheated on her yet some people are supporting him.If it was the opposite Shakira would[have] been trolled and hated’.
Gerard Pique and Shakira’s split
Via Shakira’s PR team, the 46-year-old Colombian singer and the 36-year-old Spanish defender released a joint statement that read: "We regret to confirm that we are separating," the short statement read. "For the well-being of our children, who are our highest priority, we ask that you respect our privacy. Thank you for your understanding."
However, following their split, there has been a series of speculation and controversies suggesting why Shakira decided to end an 11-year relationship.
Pique and Shakira have two sons together, Milan and Sasha.
Casio Distances Itself From Gerard Pique Amid Fake Tweet Scandal
The award-winning Colombian singer has also released songs in which she called out her ex and his new flame Clara Chai.
After the release of Shakira's "BZRP Music Sessions #53," where she called out Gerard Pique’s infidelity with 23-year-old Clara Chía Martí, who she compared with electronics company Casio, celebrities have been reacting to the Colombian singers lyrics.
‘You traded a Rolex for a Casio’ Shakira said in the lyrics.
Then a parody Casio account on Twitter in turn made a tweet that read: ‘We may not be a Rolex, but at least we haven't been dumped for Clara Chia.’
But Piqué tried to diminish the barranquillera's lyrics by saying the watch brand would be the new sponsor of his new project, King's League.
However, the Japanese international electronics brand has publicly denied any commercial collaboration with Piqué and has asked the soccer player to stop using their name, while they continue to stand on a neutral ground.
