A former Super Eagles player has disclosed that his passion for Kano Pillars, a team in the Nigeria Football Premier League, was the reason behind his decision to rejoin them.
Shehu Abdullahi, who was unable to find a new club in Europe, finalised his transfer to the former NPFL champions, Kano Pillars, earlier this month.
The defender played for Bulgarian side Levski Sofia after joining in 2022, but his contract was terminated in 2023.
However, the former Bursaspor player decided to further his career by going back to the Kano Pillars, where he began it.

Abdullahi returns to Kano Pillars
The 31-year-old defender, who is also capable of playing defensive midfield, stated in a recent interview that he returned to Kano Pillars because he is passionate about the team.
Abdullahi told Pillars’ media team, “I’m happy to be here, Kano Pillars is our club, everyone is proud of it.
"It is always a dream to see us come back to where we started our journey. Kano is a home to us, they always welcome us.
“They were always sending us messages when we were playing in Europe to come back to play. We are happy we’re here, and hopefully we’ll make them happy as well.”
Meanwhile, Ahmed Musa scored a brace to help Sai Masu Gida win 2-0 while Abdullahi was on the bench for Kano Pillars in their most recent match against Sunshine Stars.
Abdullahi will be looking to make his team debut shortly as they prepare to play at Akwa United.
