Flick also appreciated Messi's continued interest in the team, despite his departure from Camp Nou a few years ago.
"We love that he follows the team. It means a lot to us that he holds the youngsters in the squad in such high regard," Flick said.
Meanwhile, Flick's men failed to make the most of a 2-goal lead against Celta, as they gave away two quick goals to take just one point from the game.
That result means Real Madrid can cut the gap to just one point if they win their outstanding games.
