Leicester vs Man City: Savinho finally turns up to help Guardiola's men return to winning ways
Pep Guardiola's Manchester City returned to winning ways with a 2-0 win over Leicester City at the King Power Stadium.
However, this campaign has been plagued by inconsistency, with only two wins in their last 10 league matches.
Injuries have played a major role in the City's downturn, with key players spending considerable time on the sidelines. The absence of Ballon d'Or winner Rodri, who is out for the remainder of the season, has been particularly impactful.
What Silva said
In an interview with Sky Sports, Portuguese sensation Bernardo Silva offered a blunt assessment of the situation.
"Right now it's about accepting reality. I'm not looking at Liverpool. I'm sixth in the league, I cannot be looking at Liverpool or Arsenal," he stated.
Silva continued, "I'm looking at the next game to try and win three points... I wouldn't say it's impossible because in football there are no impossibles, but right now Manchester City is completely out of the title race, no question about that, it's too late for us."
He added, "People say you cannot win the league until January, but you can lose it. This season the reality is that we have lost it."
City will go up against 13th-placed West Ham United on Saturday before an FA Cup match against fourth-tier side Salford City on January 11.
