‘It is not possible’ - Amorim claims Arteta won’t have been given enough time at Man United

Ruben Amorim has claimed that Mikel Arteta would have been given the same amount of time to flourish at Manchester United as he was at Arsenal.

Manchester United appointed Amorim a few weeks ago following the sacking of Erik Ten Hag.

Since his appointment, the Dutch manager has won back-to-back games against Bodo Glimt in the Europa League and Everton in the Premier League.

However, ahead of his first major test against Arsenal, he has taken a dig at Arteta following the time he was given at the club.

Amorim has insisted that Arteta would not have lasted this long if he was the manager of Manchester United.

According to the Sun, “It is always important for a coach to have that confidence, but we have to acknowledge that Manchester United is a little bit different.

“All the attention that you guys put in here, all the time. So I know that sometimes it is not possible to have all that time.

“So we will try to manage that and try to do things a little bit faster knowing that here is massive attention and massive judgement every day.”

Despite his comment, Amorim still had nothing but admiration for Arteta's work at the Gunners.

He continued, “He’s done an amazing job. Sometimes coaches are just judged about the titles, but what he has been doing in Arsenal, I think is amazing. It transformed the team.

“He bought some youngsters that now are the big talents in this country. I hope to have the same mindset that he had in the difficult moments because I followed the Premier League for a long time. It’s a very good characteristic in Mikel, so I think he did a great job.”

Amorim, the new manager of the Red Devils, will lead United against Arsenal, who are in second place.
