Real Madrid star was never fussed about the possibility of facing Manchester City in the playoffs.

Real Madrid have drawn Manchester City in the Champions League playoffs, and if Thibault Courtois’s words are to go by, Los Blancos would not have been worried when Thiago Alcantara confirmed the tie.

By failing to make the top 8, the 15-time winners were set to go the playoff route and had a 50% chance of facing Manchester City. With that likelihood in mind, Courtois was quizzed about the prospects, and he expressed ease.

What Courtois said

"I've said it before; we didn't miss out on the top eight today, but in other games," Courtois told Movistar.

"We'll have to play the playoff and see who we play against. It's our job to be ready and wait. But we're not afraid of anyone.”

Asked specifically about the possibility of facing Manchester City, he said, "It is what it is.

"We played them in knockout games last year, two years ago, and three years ago. If we have to play City, if you want to win the Champions League, you have to beat the best.
