Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino laid bare the soul-crushing effect that his team's draw against Brentford had on him.

When probed about his sentiments following the draw against Brentford, the visibly crestfallen coach didn't hold back, expressing his profound unhappiness.

He disclosed that the draw felt so much like a defeat that he even cancelled dinner plans with his wife.

Pochettino’s statement

“Saturday, after the Brentford game, the draw was like a loss. It killed my wife because I cancelled our dinner. I said I don’t want to go for a dinner, I wanted to stay at home,” Pochettino candidly revealed, as reported by One Football.

“I was lucky because my coaching staff was with me then. We finished the day watching Real Madrid versus Valencia, had more wine, but nothing excitement. Only watching more football.

“Last few days I was watching all the games. I was not only watching the Champions League and the Championship. I was also watching the Asian Champions League — Al Hilal-Al Ittihad, Al Ain-Al Nassr. I was watching different games.

“The responsibility is to win and provide good feelings to the fans. You feel the responsibility when things are not so good.”, the Chelsea boss added, according to One Football.

With tonight's clash against Newcastle looming on the horizon, Chelsea is gearing up to put their recent woes behind them.

The team will be hoping to bounce back with a resounding win, aiming to reignite the fire and passion that has been momentarily dimmed by recent setbacks.
