Edo Queens have made history by becoming the second Nigerian club to reach the semi-finals of the CAF Women's Champions League.

Edo Queens coach Moses Aduku is blowing hot ahead of the CAF Women's Champions League clash against TP Mazembe from the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Edo Queens dethroned champions Sundowns.

He added that the Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions remain focused on their next challenge, acknowledging the tough task ahead and highlighting the need to improve their goal conversion rate.

"One more game to the final; it won't be easy, and we are going to go into our plans for the next game. It will be tough, we know.

"Honestly, we need to work on our goal conversion. Clear-cut chances that we should have scored; we will work to improve on that," he said.

Edo Queens' impressive run in the CAF Women's Champions League has been fueled by the exceptional performance of striker Emem Essien.

The Nigerian side's 2-1 comeback victory over Mamelodi Sundowns secured their place in the semi-finals.

Essien's equalising goal in the 88th minute proved to be a turning point in the match, igniting the team's comeback. Her performance earned her the Player of the Match award.

Aduku explained that Essien is determined and she has been an important player for the team.

"Essien is a determined and skilled player. If you look at her size, you would underrate her, but she is very crafty. She's been crucial for us," he said.

"I am happy; I am happy; that is all I can say. We didn't believe this would happen, but with the spirit of never giving up, we did it," Essien expressed her joy after the game.
