Ikorodu City controlled the match from the outset, taking a 2-0 lead within the first 19 minutes through goals from Salau Yusuf and Emmanuel Solomon.
Lobi Stars managed to claw their way back into the game with two late goals from Ifeanyi Assurance, but it was not enough to prevent a defeat as Ayemwenre and Alade's goals sealed the victory for the Oga boys.
Amokachi acknowledges Challenges
Reacting after the game, Amokachi acknowledged the challenges facing his team, citing his short tenure and the team's need for improvement.
"Like I always say, it's a work in progress. I've only been with the team for two weeks and we've had three straight games in a week," he said.
Balancing experience and Youth
Amokachi also highlighted the importance of balancing experienced players with younger talent.
"We cannot have youthful players throughout your team. We have experience, and with those experiences, we know what we need to come into play," he noted.
Amokachi emphasised the need for his team to work on their movement and tactical display. He acknowledged the team's flaws and expressed his belief in their ability to improve.
