The erstwhile fabled Western Kenya representatives to the Kenya Secondary Schools Sports Association (KSSSA) National Championships Shanderema were booted out 1-0 at the semifinal stage by a sleek St Anthony’s Boys who represent Rift Valley.
Javan Omondi had the easiest of jobs as he tapped in from six yards to score the only goal of the match after Aldrine Kibet had delightfully sliced through the Shanderema defence before squaring the pass to Omondi.

In the other semifinals, Nyanza’s Agoro Sare bowed out after a 2-0 whipping by Nairobi’s Dagoretti. The Nairobians wasted no time as Dismas Ongocho opened the scores in the 4th minute leaving Agoro Sare bamboozled.
They tried to steady the ship in the dying minutes of the opening half and were unlucky to still be down at the breather. However, the second half broght more misery to the first timers at national stage as they conceded a second goal that killed their spirit.
