Pep Guardiola has expressed his shock at Erling Haaland's outrageous goal against Sparta Prague.

Manchester City thrashed Sparta Prague 5-0 in their UEFA Champions League clash last night, moving third on the league table.

Haaland, who started in attack for City, extended his goal tally to 13 in all competitions with two goals on the night.

In the second half, Savinho's cross was acrobatically completed by the Norwegian with a back-heel volley from the air.

According to ESPN, Guardiola said, "I didn't know how he scored. For a human being, I would say no [it's not normal]. He made a fantastic goal.

"He can touch 15 or 20 balls but have seven or eight chances. It's unbelievable. He made an incredible goal, similar to [Borussia] Dortmund a few years ago. I don't know which one is more difficult but I would say both."

With the win, City moved up to third place in the Champions League standings and are now within striking distance of the knockout stages.

Guardiola's team also broke the record set by Manchester United between 2007 and 2009 by going 26 games without losing in Europe.

Meanwhile, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has praised John Stones and asserted that he is capable of playing as a striker.
