Sean Dyche has been sacked by Everton as the Merseyside club aim to avoid relegation.
Everton have announced that manager Sean Dyche has been relieved of his duties, with immediate effect.
The decision comes after a disappointing first half of the season, with the Toffees sitting 16th in the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone.
Dyche was appointed Everton manager in January 2023 and successfully guided the team to Premier League survival in his first season.
He repeated this feat last season, despite the team being deducted eight points due to breaches of the Premier League's Profitability and Sustainability Rules.
However, the team's poor form this season, coupled with new owners the Friedkin Group, has led to Dyche's departure.
The Toffees face Peterborough United in the FA Cup third-round tie tonight, with Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman set to take charge of the team on an interim basis.
