The Brighton & Hove Albion forward, a product of the Red Devils' academy, spent 13 years at the club before moving to Arsenal in 2014.
The 34-year-old confirmed that his sole focus is on what he can contribute to Brighton.
“It’s speculation. Being a Manchester boy, I’ve always got that link after coming through at United. Stuff always comes up but I’m just focusing on what I can do for Brighton.
“I had a great time playing for England but my focus is solely on Brighton," he added. "The rest of the other stuff, that takes care of itself. My mind is set on Brighton and trying to get three points every weekend,” Welbeck told talkSPORT.
The former Arsenal striker has scored six goals in 12 Premier League matches for Brighton & Hove Albion this season.
