What Mourinho said
His contract with Fenerbahce expires in the summer of 2026, and he has stated that he desires a return to the Premier League at the end of his term.
During an interview with the Italian publication Corriere dello Sport, the Portuguese spoke about his openness to return to Serie A, and how he has not caught up with the affairs of the Giallorossi since he was fired.
However, he restated his desire to shepherd a national side in the near future. "I’ve never watched Roma play again, but I’ve watched Inter,” the former Real Madrid boss said.
“I want to play a European Championship or a World Cup and unite a country around a team, as I have already done many times with the clubs. I want to do it for football and what this sport represents. It will be incredible."
