'Africa is Blessed' - Fan celebrates the rise of Lookman, Osimhen, Amad and two other African stars
Nigerian duo of Ademola Lookman and Victor Osimhen have been celebrated as a part of group of six Africans making the continent proud.
Iwobi aims to provide families in need with everything they require for their Christmas dinner, showcasing his commitment to giving back to the community where he grew up.
In his own words, Iwobi expressed the significance of this project, according to a report by the Telegraph:
“Canning Town is where I grew up. It’s the perfect place to give back. I will probably be tired after playing against Liverpool – it will be an intense game – but whether I get cramp or have no hamstrings, I will be there.”
He emphasised the importance of showing his human side and connecting with those less fortunate: “It’s nice to show I am human. I am the same as everyone else.”
Iwobi's desire to help others stems from his upbringing; he recalls how his father would often give back to those in need, whether by helping family members in Nigeria or offering support to neighbours.
This spirit of generosity has inspired him throughout his life and career: “Even if I didn’t become a footballer, it was always something I was eager to do,” he added.
As Iwobi reflects on the values instilled in him during his childhood, he is displaying that giving back is not just a seasonal gesture but a fundamental part of who he is.
