Nigerian and African football fans were united in dragging a Jamaican who tried to belittle the AFCON 2023 tournament.
A Jamaican fan faced serious backlash from Nigerians and Africans after trolling the Super Eagles' draw with Equatorial Guinea at the ongoing AFCON 2023 tournament in Cote d'Ivoire.
Nigeria, regarded as one of the favourites to win the tournament, failed to meet expectations in their first match, as they came from behind to settle for a 1-1 draw with Equatorial Guinea, through a Victor Osimhen goal.
Following this result, a Jamaican named Keion, who took to his X page to troll Nigeria and the AFCON tournament, was met with unexpected dragging from Nigerians and Africans for belittling their prestigious championship.
"They told me Jamaica wouldn't make it out of the AFCON groups when Nigeria are losing 1-0 to Equatorial Guinea," tweeted Keion as his initial post.

This riled up several African football fans, who felt no team in the continent can be underrated and Jamaica won't even match up to most African football teams.

After noticing the backlash he was getting, Keion will further tweet supporting his initial statement.
"One of favourites to win this competition is drawing against a country with over 1 million population. Come witness us play some elite Reggae Reggae football in the summer when we're in the prestige Copa America."
