Joao Felix has revealed that he is very happy at Chelsea, but his continuity at the club remains on doubt.
Joao Felix has admitted the uncertainty of his future at Chelsea, stating that the future is unknown and undecided.
The 22-year-old joined Chelsea from Atletico Madrid in the January transfer window for a whopping £11 million six-month loan fee.
Joao Felix on his future
Chelsea have been repeatedly reported as being interested in making Felix's deal permanent and are willing to make the significant financial outlay the deal is expected to warrant.
The player himself, who was reported to have pushed for a move out of Atletico after his relationship with Diego Simeone broke down, is said to be enjoying life at Chelsea.
When asked by journalists ahead of Chelsea's Champions League second-leg clash against Dortmund about how life at Chelsea has been, he confirmed that the loan move has been good for him, saying he needed to leave Atletico at the time he did.
“I think I needed it (the loan). When I left Atletico, I thought it was good for me and them,” he said, per Marca.
“I think it was the perfect deal to try something different. I always try to do my best, and sometimes it didn’t work. I think this loan is important for me, and I’m very happy here.
“If I want to stay or not? Nobody knows the future. After that, we don't know what will happen. I'm here and the club is very big, it's incredible. Everyone who they are behind the club they are very good so I'm happy to be here”
He was further asked about his future, but this time he kept his cards close to his chest, saying the future remains uncertain.
Felix at Chelsea
The Portugal international had a regrettable debut at Chelsea, picking up a red card after a poorly timed tackle on Fulham defender Kenny Tete in Chelsea’s 2-1 defeat to the Cottagers.
However, since returning from suspension, he has been one of the better performers in an unspirited Chelsea side, playing six times.
He has only managed to score one goal for Graham Potter's side. Still, his overall contribution has kept him in the manager's good graces and has seemingly impressed the Chelsea hierarchy, who are said to desire a permanent move for Felix.
