The departing coach achieved significant milestones, including a top-four finish and reaching the second qualifying round of the CAF Confederation Cup.

Tanzania Premier League side Singida Fountain Gate FC  has announced a coaching shakeup, leaving Kenyan internationals Joash Onyango and Duke Abuya in the midst of a transition.

The club, which welcomed the duo at the beginning of the season, bid farewell to their head coach Hans Van de Pluijm on Tuesday afternoon.

Under the guidance of Hans, Singida made significant strides finishing fourth-place  last season and also secured their spot in the CAF Confederation Cup.

The decision for Hans to step down came as a surprise, leaving many to speculate about the reasons behind the move.

According to the club's official statement, the seasoned coach made the difficult choice to resign in order to allocate more time to his personal endeavors.

“Hans will forever be part of the club's history having recorded a historic achievement for the club last season finishing in the TOP 4, and qualifying the club for the current CAF Confederations Competition in which recently he has helped the team to advance to the 2nd round in the competition,” the statement read.

“We are profusely indebted to his service to the club, the commitment and professionalism with which he always carried himself throughout his many coaching spells with us.”

As the Tanzanian football landscape adjusts to this unexpected change, the spotlight inevitably falls on the Kenyan internationals, Joash Onyango and Duke Abuya.

Their journey at Singida had commenced with promise, guided by Pluijm's coaching philosophy.

With the reins now temporarily handed over to assistant coach Mathias Lule, the duo faces the challenge of adapting to this dynamic shift.
