The centre-back will reportedly be allowed to depart as his contract will be mutually terminated.

Harambee Stars defender Joash Onyango has reportedly entered into a mutual agreement with Simba SC to part ways.

The former Gor Mahia defender has been massively linked with a move out of Simba for the longest time now.

Simba have started restructuring their team from the technical bench to the playing unit, and more players are expected to leave.

After failing to win silverware in the second successive season, Wekundu wa Msimbazi are expected to undergo a restructuring process in order to build a very competitive outfit.

Reports indicate that coach Roberto ‘Robertinho’ Oliveira has proposed to the club’s hierarchy to sign up to 11 players.

Tanzanian media reports, meanwhile, indicate that Onyango will be allowed to leave as a free agent as he and the club have agreed to terminate his contract.

In the first two seasons, the former Western Stima defender was loved by Simba fans given his solidity at the heart of the defence.

But last season, he was vulnerable, especially in the CAF Champions League, and had to deal with constant criticism.

The expected departure will be an opportunity for the former KPL defender of the season to explore a different environment with a different team.

He has been linked with a return to Gor Mahia, a club he made his name with and won Premier League titles with.

Singida Big Stars have also been linked with Onyango, and should they sign the Kenyan defender, it means he will remain in the Tanzanian Mainland Premier League.
