What happened
The 26-year-old has been one of the stars for the Old Lady, before his progression was blighted by a disheartening cruciate ligament tear in the 2021/22 season.
He worked himself back to recovery but has yet to reach his pre-injury crest. He also disagreed on tactics with erstwhile Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri, who insisted on playing the former Fiorentina man centrally instead of through his preferred position on his flanks.
These have contributed to a desire to leave, and he has had look-ins from clubs like Arsenal and Tottenham.
What Motta said
Motta, who ditched Bologna for the Old Lady, oversaw his first outdoor training session with the team and was expectedly interrogated about Chiesa’s future by journalists.
Motta stated that the Italy international was still a member of the squad, but he failed to give a definitive answer, suggesting the player's future could be away from the club. “He is part of Juventus at the moment and then we will see,” Motta said, per Repubblica.
