Club legend Leonardo Bonucci has been informed that he will not be part of Juventus' plan for the future
Juventus have reportedly excluded club legend Leonardo Bonucci from their future plans after leaving the defender out of their team for the pre-season tour of the USA.
Bonucci axed by Juventus
Bonucci has been with Juventus for most of his career, with two different spells at the club spanning a total of 12 years and was named club captain at the start of last season.
Despite his standing at the club, it has been revealed that Bonucci will be axed from the squad and asked to find a new team as the Old Lady approach future plans with new sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli, who joined the club from reigning Serie A champions Napoli.
According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, Guintoli has informed Bonucci that the club will not count on him for the upcoming season.
Bonucci joined by McKennie in Juventus’ hit list
Bonucci had planned to retire from football at the end of his current contract with Juventus, which expires in 2024 but has now been told to either find a new club or move up his retirement date.
The 36-year-old defender is not alone in being jettisoned by the Bianconeri, who have also reportedly informed American midfielder Weston McKennie, who spent last season on loan with Leeds, that he will play no further part at the club.
McKennie has been urged to find a new club by Juventus despite his contract running until 2025, and he has also been left out of the Old Lady’s squad jetting off to the USA.
