The Baringo-based school will not participate in the secondary school games until 2027 following their ban over the fielding of ineligible players.

Kabarnet High School from Baringo county will not participate in the secondary school games until 2017 after receiving a three-year ban for fielding ineligible players.

In what is a shocking revelation, it has emerged that four players, who turned up for the school at the Rift Valley games, were not students, leading to the heavy sanction.

Following a case filed by Rift Valley rivals St Joseph's Kitale and Laiser Schools, it was allegedly discovered that the school fielded two alumni, a Board of Management (BOM) teacher and another completely unknown individual.

The accused could not produce any proof that they were students at the school, firming up the case for St Joseph's Kitale and Laiser Hill.

To add onto the punishment, Kabarnet High School team manager has been banned for four years for overseeing the illegality with the institution stripped of its Baringo County Secondary School football title.

Kabartonjo have therefore been crowned the new Baringo county champions but will not feature in the ongoing games with Rift Valley Secondary School Games officials set to issue them with a letter of apology.

Arnesens Boys' High School will now face Laiser Hill in the quarter-final of the regional boy’s football match following Kabarne’s suspension.

Cases of non-students featuring in school games have been rampant over the years but Kabarnet appear to have take it to a new level.
