Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Esiye has revealed rather unique targets for the season.
Kakamega Homeboyz midfielder Estone Esiye has revealed his rather unique targets for the rest of the season playing in the heart of midfield for Patrick Odhiambo’s charges.
Esiye has been playing in a deep role especially since the arrival of Patrick Odhiambo, and has become sort of a tempo-dictating pass master, while also giving Homeboyz an edge with his different ranges of free kicks and corner kick execution with his right foot.
The Abana Beingo won the FKF Cup last season which enabled them to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup, but they were bundled out by Al Hilal Benghazi in an embarrassing version away from home, leaving them with no choice but to challenge on all fronts domestically.

FKFPL Esiye pinpoints Kakamega Homeboyz area of concern after loss to Sharks
The set piece specialist believes that a draw should have been a fairer result as the FKF Cup holders lost 1-0 to Kariobangi Sharks.
“We need to finish better-off than we did last season,” Esiye told Pulse Sports. “As usual, our target as Homeboyz is to try and win any trophy that comes in front of us, which means, we have to go for three points in every game whether home or away,” he added.
Esiye wants to add assists to his game consistently, acknowledging that playing deeper has reduced his chances of being a consistent goal getter, and being a set-piece specialist, it could give him an edge’.
“I am playing deeper right now, so my target is to get as many assists as possible rather than scoring in order to help the team any way, even if it means being better defensively.”

FKFPL Gor Mahia school 10-man Shabana to put pressure on surprise leaders Posta
Gor Mahia fully took advantage of Shabana being reduced to 10 men to grab all the three points in an enticing encounter.
Esiye insists he is not feeling the pressure of impressing Harambee Stars head coach Engin Firat, who was at Kasarani Annex watching the game against Kariobangi Sharks as he was clearly watching to see which players might impress him.
“I have no pressure to get into the national team. The people who are there are already doing a good job, but if I am given an opportunity to score, I will also try and do my best to see if I can help.”
