The Bayern Munich striker has now written his name alongside some of the all-time Champions League greats
Harry Kane has written his name into the history books by surpassing Wayne Rooney’s record for the most goals scored by an Englishman in the UEFA Champions League.
With his 30th strike in the competition, Kane equalled the record with the Manchester United legend and added two more to go ahead of the ex-England international.
Kane's milestone moment for Bayern Munich
In Bayern Munich's latest Champions League outing, Harry Kane added another goal to his impressive tally.
The moment came when Jamal Musiala's clever pass set up Serge Gnabry, whose finish was ruled offside.
However, the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Aleksandar Pavlovic in the build-up, and Kane confidently converted from the spot to give Bayern the lead.

This marked Kane’s ninth goal in just 13 Champions League appearances for Bayern Munich, adding to the 21 goals he netted during his time at Tottenham Hotspur.
Kane then added two more goals against Zagreb, adding his 31st and 32nd goals in the UEFA Champions League completing his hat-trick.
Rooney’s record and Kane's pursuit
Wayne Rooney set the benchmark with 30 Champions League goals, all scored during his time at Manchester United.

Alongside his goal tally, Rooney also contributed 21 assists in 85 appearances for the European giants during a successful 13-year spell at Old Trafford.
Kane matched that feat in significantly fewer matches, however, unlike Rooney, the England captain has yet to lift the coveted Champions League trophy or any other major title.
