Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was nowhere to be found as Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce sealed a comfortable win at Kasimpasa.

Jose Mourinho's Fenerbahce secured a comfortable 2-0 victory against Kasimpasa in the Turkish Super Lig, with both teams notably missing their Nigerian defenders.

The match saw former Premier League stars Allan Saint-Maximin and Dusan Tadic find the net in the first half, cementing Fenerbahce's position at the top of the league table.

Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo was conspicuously absent from Kasimpasa's squad, not even making the bench for the home side.

The 30-year-old AFCON 2013 winner has yet to feature for Kasimpasa since their 1-0 victory against Rizespor on August 31st, where he faced compatriot Olawoyin Ibrahim.

This continued absence raises questions about Omeruo's standing in the team.

On the other hand, Fenerbahce were without their own Nigerian defender, Bright Osayi-Samuel, who remained sidelined due to injury.

Dusan Tadic sealed the win through a penalty kick.

Despite these absences, Fenerbahce showed no signs of weakness as they dominated the match.

Kasimpasa vs Fenerbahce: Summary

The victory for Fenerbahce comes on the heels of their rivals Galatasaray’s impressive 5-0 win against Rizespor on Saturday night, where Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen made his official debut for the club, contributing with an assist.

Despite the Gala, it is Fenerbahce who moved to the top of the Super Lig table, leapfrogging their rivals having played one more game ahead of the derby next weekend.

Mourinho's impact on Fenerbahce is becoming increasingly evident, with the team extending their unbeaten run to five matches across all competitions.

The Portuguese manager's tactical acumen, combined with the firepower of players like Saint-Maximin and Tadic, is transforming Fenerbahce into a formidable force in Turkish football.

Meanwhile, for Super Eagles veteran defender Omeruo, the challenge will be to regain his place in the team and contribute to his side's campaigns in the competitive Turkish Super Lig.
