Allan Kateregga, part of the final Uganda Cranes squad at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations that was played in Egypt, felt as much.
"It's a dare, a good dare because we are all daring in life," Kateregga told Pulse Sports before explaining how he dared to play in some countries with a rough political climate.
"Me moving to Iraq and Congo was a dare because there is always political instability, same for South Africa where there is Xenophobia," he noted.

One would imagine that Uganda Cranes winger Allan Kateregga, a very cheerful character in the dressing room, doesn’t have a partner in crime.
"I also dared to play In Kenya, and at the time, the Al Shabab attacks were everywhere, so it's probably the right note we need to get things going."
The 29-year-old, also nicknamed the Dancing Rasta revealed that if CAF gave East Africa the opportunity, all countries, especially Uganda, would be forced to prepare, and facilities would sprout up.

'The Dancing Rasta', who enjoyed a one-season spell with two different clubs in South Africa, signing for Cape Town City FC in mid-2018.
"If CAF gives us the opportunity, we shall be forced to prepare, so overall, it's a good dare; it will shape us more with infrastructure."
Uganda's only available facility, Namboole Stadium, has been undergoing renovations for the past five months; Kenya and Tanzania are also working on their respective facilities to be ready for the CAF inspection.
Algeria, Botswana and Egypt are the other countries that put in respective individual bids for the 2027 AFCON.
