One would imagine that Uganda Cranes winger Allan Kateregga, a very cheerful character in the dressing room, doesn’t have a partner in crime.
Every athlete always has that one teammate they have camaraderie with on and off the pitch.
One would imagine that Uganda Cranes winger Allan Kateregga, a very cheerful character in the dressing room, doesn’t have a partner in crime.
But not at all after he revealed that compatriots Khalid Aucho and Godfrey Walusimbi are his best mates on the pitch.
“I have had some excellent players around me in the different dressing rooms I have been a part of, players like South African legend Teko Modise (Cape Town City FC) and Youssouf Mulumbu (Saint-Eloi Lupopo),” Kateregga told Pulse Sports in an exclusive interview.
“However, Khalid Aucho is my best teammate, Godfrey Walusimbi, too, because it’s always exciting when you play on the line with him.”
The Dancing Rasta added: “We share a lot with Aucho; we all use the left foot while playing, although mine is better (laughs out loud). Also, he has guided me severally on and off the pitch, so I look up to him.”
Of all Allan Kateregga’s teammates, none comes close to Youssouf Mulumbu in terms of experience; the former Congolese midfielder is a product of the PSG youth system and went on to feature for French giants.
Mulumbu also played in the English Premiership for Norwich City and, most notably, West Bromwich Albion, where he spent close to seven seasons.
Allan Kateregga is currently on holiday as he ponders his next move after his contract with Saint Eloi-Lupopo ended.
