KCB tore apart Nairobi City Stars 4-1 despite going down to 10 men late in the game to climb to third in the table.
KCB FC assistant coach Elvis Ayany has expressed satisfaction at his side’s improvement from set-piece situations in the 4-1 win over Nairobi City Stars in a league match played at the Kasarani Annex on Sunday.
Nicholas Kipkirui, Haniff Wesonga, Francis Kahiro, and Danson Namasaka were on target for the Bankers with Kelvin Etemesi scoring the consolation for City Stars.
KCB ended the match one man down after Namasaka was sent off just five minutes after he had scored the fourth but the visitors could do so little in the final 10 minutes to make their numerical advantage count.

FKFPL KCB put Nairobi City Stars to the sword to extend unbeaten run to seven games
KCB brushed aside a hapless Nairobi City Stars to move to third on the log and put pressure on leaders Posta Rangers and second-placed Gor Mahia
However, Ayany, who was stepping in for head coach Benard Mwalala after he lost his voice shouting instructions during the match, was pleased with the performance of his charges.
“We are very grateful with the performance today (Sunday), thankful that the boys have convincingly delivered three points,” Ayany said.
The Bankers scored their first two goals from set-piece situations, which left Ayany pleased with the improvement in efficiency after they had fired blanks against Ulinzi Stars seven days earlier.

FOOTBALL Namwamba names Michael Olunga’s successor at Harambee Stars
Sports Cabinet Secretary Ababu Namwamba is confident that Kenya will not struggle to replace captain Michael Olunga as there is another talented young striker capable of taking over.
“We are pleased with how the team is taking advantage of set-piece situations. Against Ulinzi, we got a lot of set-piece situations but failed to take full advantage of them.
“We however thank God that we managed to get those set pieces and we were able to convert them.”
Ayanyi has challenged his charges to keep the run going if they are to achieve their objective of winning the league title this season.
