The 27-year-old sustained a knee injury on Wednesday during their Football Kenya Federation Premier League duel against the Brewers, in a match KCB lost 1-0.

KCB assistant coach Godfrey Oduor confirmed the injury admitting it is a massive blow to the team.
"It is a big blow to lose such a key player. We are crossing our fingers and hoping it is not as bad as it initially looked," Oduor.
"Regardless of that, we have an incredible pool of talent that we can rely on. The other players are equal to the task and will step up to feel the gap."

Mutinda has been the captain of KCB since April 2022, having taken over the armband from Simon Munala.
The Kenyan international has excelled at the Bankers since joining the side in 2018 from the now-defunct Thika United.
Meanwhile, coach Oduor remains positive that they will be a better side against Tusker in the quarter-final.

Tusker, on their side, survived a scare from third-tier side Rainbow FC to come from 2-0 down and win 3-2 in the Round of 16 matches on April 2.
