The situation surrounding KCCA FC teenager Hassan Mubiru is alarming, with threats of retiring from football almost just at the start of his career emerging.

Mubiru joined the Kasasiro Boys in February 2023 from Express FC, but a year later, he is frustrated by the lack of game time at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo.

His latest disappointment came on Tuesday as KCCA travelled to Mbale for their Stanbic Uganda Cup Round of 64 against Admin FC on Wednesday.

Mubiru was hopeful that he would make it to the squad for this encounter, but he was disappointed by the news that he was not travelling.

The above left the 19-year-old in depression, locking himself in his house until his manager, Adam Ntale Golooba, was urgently called.

"I received an abrupt call concerning Mubiru, and I rushed very fast only to find him locked inside the house," Ntale told the media at the player's residence before adding.

"He had refused to talk to anyone, but when I arrived, he accepted and opened the door, and we spoke, and he told me that what was bothering him was work-related."

"Mubiru is a KCCA fan, but he has not been allowed to play for the team he loves so much despite his efforts in training."

"He is sick and tired of the situation and wants to retire from playing football, but as his representative, I will not allow that to happen," the CEO of Ntale Products added.

The winger signed a five-year contract with the club, and according to his manager, loaning or releasing him would be the best option if game time cannot come his way at Lugogo.

"He is still a young player, and he is so talented, so I will not allow such a talent to be wasted at Lugogo, and neither will he retire; he is only speaking out of frustration and disappointment."

"All he wants is to play football, and many teams would be interested in him, so my advice would be to explore the opportunities elsewhere," Ntale noted.

Much to Mubiru's amusement, players on national duty came straight into the travelling squad, leaving out some of the players who had trained with the team in preparation for this Uganda Cup game.

Midfielders Saidi Mayanja and Elvis Mwanje are notable players who did not travel with KCCA to Mbale.

When contacted, KCCA head coach Abdallah Mubiru noted the last time he saw the player, he was in perfect condition before the team left Kampala for Mbale.

The former Police FC tactician further stated that he talks to all his players and always gives them reasons why they will play or not.
