KCCA FC lost 1-0 to BUL FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League opener over the weekend, just days after going down to Libya’s Abu Salem 3-1 in the CAF Confederations Cup first round.

KCCA FC head coach Sergio Traguil is yearning for Mustaffa Kizza to get on the pitch after a string of two poor performances.

The Lugogo-based side lost 1-0 to BUL FC in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League over the weekend, just days after going down to Libya’s Abu Salem 3-1 in the CAF Confederations Cup first round.

Traguil is troubled by the lack of creative options in his wings but hopes Kizza will be the solution.

“Kizza can give us that offensive [options] that we need from the left side with crosses,” the coach noted.

Kizza left KCCA FC in August 2020 to join Montreal Impact in Major League Soccer in the USA before crossing to Arouca in Portugal in July last year. He returned to the Kasasiro Boys earlier in the year for a short stint. He was unveiled last week officially as he announced his third stint.

However, the defender-cum-winger was not utilised in their league opener as Traguil deployed Herbert Achai in the left-back position against BUL but the youngster didn’t exploit the chance to the fullest.

“It’s not that the others are not doing well; Achai had a good game but sometimes made mistakes but like I said, Kizza will bring more quality for sure,” he explained.

The Portuguese also welcomed Emmanuel Loki to his roster with the hope that the former Soltilo Bright Stars forward will add more firepower upfront.

KCCA face Abu Saleem in the return leg on Saturday 30th September, as they seek to overturn the first leg deficit in a bid to qualify for the CAF Confederation Cup group stage for the second time.
