Kenya Police FC has reducesd ticket prices for Shabana clash after criticism for high costs during Gor Mahia game.

Kenya Police FC have sliced ticket prices for their forthcoming FKF Premier League encounter against Shabana FC aiming to soothe the uproar ignited by the elevated ticket costs in their previous home game against Gor Mahia.

The match is scheduled to take place at the Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi, with kickoff at 4 pm and will be broadcasted live by KBC TV.

The decision comes in the wake of significant criticism from fans and stakeholders alike over the exorbitant ticket prices charged during the Gor Mahia match.

The club had introduced a three-tier pricing strategy, with VVIP tickets priced at Ksh 3,000, VIP tickets at Ksh 2,000, and terrace tickets at Ksh 1,500, sparking widespread outrage among the football community.

In a move to reconcile with the fans, the club announced a return to the standard ticket pricing for the upcoming clash against Shabana FC.

Fans can now purchase tickets at Ksh 200 for the normal stands and Ksh 1,000 for the VIP stands. The tickets are available exclusively online in advance to ensure a smooth and orderly entry on the match day.

This pricing adjustment represents a significant departure from the club's previous stance, where they justified the high ticket prices as a measure to control crowd numbers at the Police Sacco Grounds, which has a lower capacity compared to other venues.

The club was compelled to host their match at this venue after being denied access to the Nyayo Stadium and Ulinzi Complex due to various concerns, including unpaid damages from previous matches.

The controversy surrounding the ticket prices for the Gor Mahia game had led to a widespread discussion on social media, with fans labeling the charges as 'exorbitant.'

Despite the initial firm stance by Kenya Police FC, the backlash has prompted a reevaluation of their pricing strategy, aligning more closely with the pricing norms within the FKF Premier League.

Historically, the most expensive ticket for a top-flight game was Ksh 1,000 for the VIP area during a Mashemeji Derby.
