Kenya will be hosting the CECAFA U18 Women's Championship in Nairobi from 24th June to 8th July.

The Kenya national girls’ under 18s side, Junior Starlets are ready to perform well at the upcoming CECAFA U18 Women’s Championship that will be staged in Nairobi between 24th June and 8th July this year.

Having spent a week in camp in Nairobi, the atmosphere has been vibrant as the players brim with excitement.

The training camp has proven to be invaluable for the players, providing them with an environment conducive for learning and honing their skills.

They have been granted the opportunity to gain knowledge not only from their coaches but also from each other. This knowledge will undoubtedly serve them well, not just during the tournament but also in their potential future professional careers.

Mollyne Akinyi, a student at Our Lady of Fatima Secondary School, expressed her enthusiasm for the camp.

“We have a tremendous opportunity to learn from both our peers and our coaches. This collaborative learning environment has instilled confidence within the players, driving them towards a resolute determination to secure victory in this home tournament."

Akinyi further affirmed their commitment, saying, “Our primary goal is to win this tournament, and we are working tirelessly towards achieving that.”

The players are also appealing to Kenyans to turn up an offer their unwavering support during the tournament.

Ivy Chepkirui, from Zetech Sparks, urged the fans, saying, “We encourage our fans to stand by us and rally behind us. With their support, we will strive to deliver good performances.”
