According to the latest transfer rumours, the Kenya captain could be on his way to Turkey.

Harambee Stars forward Michael Olunga has been linked with a move to join Turkish giants Galatasaray.

Reports indicate that his agent has already contacted the Super Lig giants over the possibility of signing the former Thika United star.

Olunga’s contract with his current club, Al Duhail SC, is expected to end in the summer of 2023, and this has prompted a number of reports linking him with various clubs.

Olunga played a pivotal role as Al Duhail emerged as the Qatar Stars League champions just recently. The Kenyan scored 22 goals, which also saw him retain the Golden Boot award.

Perhaps with that kind of achievement, it is not strange that he has been linked with bigger clubs. Scotland’s Rangers have also been reported to be interested in the former Gor Mahia striker.

Although his contract might be coming to an end, Al Duhail are expected to fight tooth and nail to keep the towering Harambee Star.

Olunga’s league title is his first with the Qatari side, a club he joined in 2021 after he had made his name in Japan with Kashiwa Reysol.

He was a key player as Kashiwa Reysol fought to earn promotion to the J1 League. Then, he scored 27 goals as Reysol returned to the top-tier.

His time in the Japanese top league was equally impressive, as he also won the Golden Boot award after edging off his then close rival, Kashima Antlers’ Evaraldo.

In his last season in Japan, he was also voted the Most Valuable Player, becoming the first African player to win such an award in the Far East nation.

In November 2021, he won the AFC Champions League’s Golden Boot after scoring nine goals despite the fact that his side was eliminated from the group stage.

Just like he was linked with bigger clubs when he was about to leave Reysol, Olunga is expected to attract suitors in the upcoming transfer window given what he achieved this term with Al Duhail.
